Amanda Shipman Designs
As a garden designer working on residential and commercial projects, I place great importance on the needs of the people who will be using the garden and finding the best solution for the site. I work closely with amazing clients and talented contractors, and use my creativity to produce imaginative, beautiful and satisfying landscapes.
Having been designing since 1998, I decided to add a bit of polish to my portfolio and raise my game. I studied the full-time Diploma in Garden Design at the Inchbald in 2008, was awarded a Distinction, won the Anthony Paul Garden Design Award and had two mind-expanding placements - first with Martha Schwartz and then with Diarmuid Gavin. I entered and won an international garden design competition and my design for a trade stand was exhibited at Chelsea in 2010.
As a visiting studio tutor and lecturer in Vectorworks, Garden and Planting Design (all my students are fab!), I taught for several years at the Inchbald and now at City Lit, London. I am a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers, a life member of the National Trust and a member of the RHS.
