Tapestry Garden Design
some people look for a beautiful place
…others make a place beautiful
I have been designing gardens in Cambridgeshire, London and West Sussex for over 15 years and had gardens featured in two Cambridge Journals. Having recently moved to Suffolk I have now included this lovely county in my catchment area. I strongly believe my success as a garden designer is based on listening closely to the wishes of my clients and then interpreting those wishes into gardens of their dreams. All styles and sizes of gardens and budgets are catered for, and many of my clients would be happy to offer a recommendation. My largest project has been a 6 acre site, taking it from a cement works to a beautifully English Country Garden. My smallest is a town garden in Bury St Edmunds.
The Initial Consultation is an opportunity to have a chat about your needs and to get a feel for your garden, it lasts for up to one hour. I will then follow this visit up with a design quote based on our discussions.
Survey & Design
Should you decide to proceed, a site survey will be carried out from which I prepare detailed, scaled plans. I will also draw up your client brief which we will discuss in detail before agreeing your precise requirements.
Planting plans can be produced in one of two ways; to complete your project or to enhance an existing garden layout. Either way, a good planting plan is the key to a beautiful garden and we can discuss planting style, colour schemes and seasonal interest. This information will be used to produce a bespoke planting scheme in the form of a scaled drawing and/or plant list.
Planting and Construction
The detailed, scaled design is passed to the contractor who will quote for the work. The contract will be between yourselves and the contractor, although I do liaise with them during construction to ensure that the plans are being interpreted correctly. I do use my own landscaper if you wish, however, you are free to find your own.
