New horizons show garden at 2016 RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show
Stonemarket is proud to announce that they have donated products to be used as part of the ‘New Horizons’ Show Garden at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.
The garden, which has been designed by Guildford-based Beautiful Borders Garden Design and installed by landscaper Mark Nelson, will be showcased at Hampton Court from 5th-10th July.
The design brief was to create a garden for a ‘young’ retired couple who are downsizing their living space.
The beautiful garden includes an Art Nouveau-inspired pergola of blue cranes and stained glass windows to add year-round colour which pay homage to the client’s native home of South Africa. The emphasis is on providing summer colour which has minimal maintenance, and encourage drought-resistant plants which will thrive in our increasingly warm climate.
The designer and landscaper met at the Stonemarket Road Show in Epsom, where they decided to work together on the project, and are both members of the Stonemarket Garden Designer and Landscaper Networks.
Stonemarket have donated Avant-garde Imperial natural stone for the project, which was a bespoke order from India, and is used as circle features, steps, a bench and copings on the walls. Avant-garde paving is cut from a high quality, ethically sourced Quartzitic sandstone, which adds a contemporary feel to any garden.
Beautiful Borders specialise in garden design and planting. Lisa Niemy specialises in plants, and how to use them creatively in a variety of spaces and soil types – she even won an RHS Gold medal last year at BBC Gardeners World Live. Darren Lincoln is a design specialist with a background in surveying, and Wendy Forster-Scorgie is an experienced horticulturalist who enjoys creating beautiful colour palettes.
